Braves Marching Band
The Mighty Braves Band is one of the largest student organization in Community ISD. The Marching Band consists of students from both concert ensembles, as well as the award winning Community High School Colorguard. The ensemble performs at football games and school functions where they perform during halftime. The ensemble competes throughout the fall in local contests and UIL events. In 2020, and 2022 the band was named Alternate for UIL State Marching Contest.


Concert Band
The Concert band meets during 2nd period and is made up of students from all grade levels. The Concert Band is a sub non-varsity band and performs professional wind literature at Community ISD and continues the development of refined, technical, and professional skills. The Concert Band will perform many concerts throughout the school year and during the month of March is a participant in the UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest. Additionally, these students participate in Solo and Ensemble contest and the TMEA All Region process.
Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band is the Secondary band in the Community High School program. The Symphonic Band meets during 2nd period and is made up of students from all grade levels. The Symphonic Band is a Non-varsity band and performs higher level wind literature at Community ISD and continues the development of higher refined, improved technical, and professional skills. The Symphonic Band will perform many concerts throughout the school year and during the month of April is a participant in the UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest. Additionally, these students participate in Solo and Ensemble contest and the TMEA All Region process.


Wind Ensemble
The Wind Ensemble is the primary band in the Community High School program. The Wind Ensemble meets during 1st period and is made up of students from all grade levels. The Wind Ensemble is a varsity band and performs the finest wind literature at Community ISD and continues the development of refined, professional skills. The Wind Ensemble will perform many concerts throughout the school year and during the month of April is a participant in the UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest. Additionally, these students participate in Solo and Ensemble contest and the TMEA All Region process.
Region Band
Community High School's involvement in TMEA allows the students to compete in the TMEA Region Band audition process which begins with students performing selected etudes for judges, who rank them based on tone, accuracy, technique, and musicality. The highest-ranking students earn placement in a Region Band, and top performers may advance to the Area audition, where they compete against students from multiple regions. From Area, the best musicians are selected for All-State ensembles. These students then attend the TMEA Conference in February, where they rehearse with distinguished conductors and perform in a concert, representing some of the top high school musicians in Texas.


Solo and Ensemble
Community High School's Solo and Ensemble program is an extension of the band program that meets during the Spring and Fall Semester before and after school to prepare for February's region meeting. Solo and Ensemble consists of students who are members of the band program and compete against themselves using a grade 1-5 piece, one being the most difficult and 5 being the easiest. Solo and Ensemble performs at band concerts throughout the year as well as outside events like our percussion concert.
Jazz Band
Community High School's Jazz Band program is an extension of the band program that meets during the Spring after school to prepare for April and May performances and gigs. The Jazz Band consists of students who are members of the band program and perform at band concerts throughout the later part of the year as well as outside events like at separate venues.


Indoor/Winter Percussion Ensembles
Community High School's Indoor/Winter Percussion ensembles are an extension of the band program that meets during the Spring after school to prepare for February through May performances. These ensembles consist of students who are members of the band program and perform at band concerts, Night of Percussion, PASIC, and state and national competing contest venues.
ColorGuard / WinterGuard
The Community Winterguard is constructed of students from grades, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. Community High School Guard is an extension of the band program where the colorguard meets during the fall semester and the winterguard meets in the spring semester. The colorguard is a part of the marching band where they perform at football games, school functions, and marching contest. The winterguard performs independently at winterguard competitions with the North Texas Colorguard Association. Unlike colorguard, the winterguard rehearses outside of school hours.
