Science Honor Society

  • The Science National Honor Society is an academic honor society focused on science for high school students within the United States.  The goal of the society is to encourage and recognize scientific and intellectual thought.  This is done by helping in teh advancement of knowledge in classical and modern fields of science.  We encourage students to participate in community service and in turn, encourage a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all humankind.

Community High School established a Science National Honor Society in April 2012.  Students who are in Science NHS have maintained a GPA minimum of 85 in all of their course work at CHS and at least a 90 in their Science courses.  These students have taken any combination of the following courses, preAP Biology ; preAP Chemistry; preAP Physics or Physics; and any combination of Advanced Science.  The Advanced Science can be Anatomy and Physiology, Astronomy, Forensics, AP Biology; Environmental Systems or Dual Credit Environmental Science.
